Wait, what are the Enneagram lines? 👇 Allegedly…

The lines of integration and disintegration describe how each type changes to resemble another specific type in the enneagram as the person unravels or evolves.

Disintegration = the type you resemble when stressed.

Integration = the type you resemble when growing or becoming healthier.

Example: 1 moves toward 4 when stressed, becoming more indulgently cvnty, prissy and withdrawn. In growth 1 moves toward 7, becoming spontaneous, laissez faire and delulu.

So basically they become NOT their type? 😒🥴

Why bullshit then? 💩

The “line” you “move to” in stress or becoming less of an NPC (getting older, more self aware) doesn’t exist. The shift is a natural expression of overdoing or underdoing your core type. You’re not becoming another type temporarily (or permanently if you’ve really gaslit yourself on your mistype). 🙄

1’s don’t “disintegrate to 4” they just double down on self-righteousness and their not-so-secret god complex. The natural polarity swing is then “integration at 7” - daddy puts his feet up, cracks a brew and lets out some of that trapped gas. 💨 😷

This plays out for every type.

These are just basic human cycles, ebbs and flows, overdoing/underdoing, responses to life being more or less agonizing - not morphing into or taking on another type’s behaviors. You are still doing and being your core type. ♾️

6’s don’t disintegrate to 3, they just get sick of being the right hand buddy, become more confident and self-trusting and feel entitled to a treat and some recognition and respect for all their studying + slaving. 📚

7’s don’t integrate to 5, suddenly wall up + self-reflect. They bottom out, run out of options and locking in is a more productive way to “escape” their situation than ending up naked in a gutter in Thailand. 🏝️

4’s don’t disintegrate to 2 and become clingy and needy (if you’re doing that, you’re a 6 lmao). They’re already princesses and just use feigned baby state or manipulation to get you to do shit for them that they feel above and too uniquely separate and special to do themselves. 🥀

If you’re trying to learn the enneagram and finding it confusing, then ditch learning about the lines. They’re totally useless. You don’t need them for self-work nor understanding the types. 👀 😳
